And the results for the first week of Camp NaNoWriMo are…
7,761 words. Getting closer to the really big life-changing scene that brings pain, which leads to tears, which leads to more pain, which leads to more tears…
Instead of line of the week, like last time, it’ll be excerpt of the week. No major spoilers, I promise!!
Excerpt of the week: Connor’s hand covered hers and she met his eyes. Love, tenderness, concern, protectiveness…
She managed a tiny half-smile. “I’ll be fine,” she said. “I know how to handle myself.”
“I know,” Connor said, giving her hand a gentle squeeze. “All the same, if you need me, I’ll be there.”
The smile turned full. “I know you will.”
(And here’s a second because why not: “Call me when you get home, okay?” she said.
He straightened and saluted her, causing her to laugh for the millionth time that night. “As you wish, Madam Detective,” he said. “Love you!”
Aww, they’re so adorable…too bad I’m gonna put them through the wringer…but I can’t just give my characters picture-perfect, easy lives now, can I? Nope, too unrealistic.
So, how are you all doing with your Camp NaNoWriMo projects?
