So, it wasn’t until Monday night that I realized I forgot to update last Saturday. Whoops.
So, firstly, somewhere during the first week, I decided to tackle 4 projects. Sound familiar? It should, because that’s what I tried to do during NaNoWriMo 2019. Unlike NaNo 2019, in which the word count would be divided between those 4, I wasn’t going to do that with these 4.
However, last week, I decided to extend two of those projects so that I wouldn’t have to finish them by the end of April (think I may have already had them on slow anyway) and i switched my main Camp project to something entirely different.
So now, instead of Love Has Memory being my main Camp NaNo project, it is a western I started at random entitled Sheriffs, Bounty Hunters, and Outlaws.
And it is definitely not being written in the same vein as the James Garner movie, Support Your Local Sheriff, which is what I wanted to do. (Hilarious movie, by the way!)
Chances are it ended up not being that way because I decided to add some of my Pine Grove characters to this and one has a Tragic Backstory™, so…
Anyway…as of right now, it’s sitting at 3,916 words. Meanwhile, the other projects have stalled, but that’s okay because LHM probably wasn’t ready in the first place, and then there’s the part where I’ve been trying to stay away from The Woodsman and the Matthews Family for a while because those two projects have been forefront for so long now, I feel like the’re growing stagnant.
Which is sad, because I really love those characters, especially the Matthews.
In addition to all of that, I’d like to say that these NaNo updates are probably all I’ll be posting this month. I was going to post another Afterverse book review, but…I’m a little stressed due to the you-know-what going on, plus the concern going around that all of this attempting to keep people safe is doing more harm than good.
BUT I WILL NOT DIVE INTO THAT CAN OF WORMS.
At least not here, because this blog is for THINGS RELATED TO THE CRAFT OF WRITING AND OF FLASH FICTIONS TO ESCAPE FROM REALITY AND OF REVIEWING BOOKS THAT ALSO HELP TO ESCAPE FROM REALITY ONLY.
Also, I’ve decided to try and transcribe my Great-Great-Grandma S’s journals onto the computer for fun. Hooray for knowing how to read and write cursive!
Alright, I think that’s it. Here is a blue jay that I managed to take a picture of earlier this week.
Tell me your thoughts below! How is your Camp NaNo going? How are you holding up with all of this going on?
